Instead of all reaction, it forces you to setup specific plays and learn what types of shots result in certain return shots. We have added a lot of fun and crazy penalties and rewards to make the outcomes fun for everyone.

Pickleball Poker was designed as a doubles game due to the social nature of the game. You can adapt it to play any version of pickleball, but some of the rewards and cards will not apply, so it would be necessary to create alternative rewards when they do not apply. We always encourage our customers and fans to play our games however they choose as long as they have fun.

Although we have tested Pickleball Poker with rally scoring, it created a lot of pausing in the game due to the increased side-out nature. There is no minimum or maximum level needed to play Pickleball Poker. We designed it to benefit beginners to pros. We encourage you to learn how to play pickleball before you dive into Pickleball Poker so that it will be easier to learn. If you have never played pickleball strategically with designed plays, you would want to start there. You can definitely play and earn cards without designed plays or strategy, but it helps to know how to set your partner up and what to look for in order to create a specific outcome. When we play, it usually takes about a game to really get into the flow since we don’t play rec with this stuff in mind. That is why we use this as a game and a tool. The more you prepare, the better your team will do in competition.
